With the free 30 day trial, are you actually allowed to use it or is it just something where you can see the features, not use them until you buy it?

You can use this with 30 days trial
You can happily use all the features of the photoshop for 30 days. After 30 days, when you try to open photoshop, the software popups a license expiration error and the program will not start.
You can use it like normal photoshop but only for 30 days.
