What Photoshop shoud i get?

i was wondering about the question i posted above^^. I went to adobe website and found a lot of kinds of photoshop but i dont know what kind i want. I want to, lets say get some anime pictures and then edit them. like change the background to a school background or change what they are wearing. So i was wondering if i should get the CS3 one or another one....? and then i am thinking about getting the after affects too cause it sound cool with the animation. So if you can tell me just what the AF's (after affects) mean too that would be great. Thanx!

If you are a beginner with Photoshop, give Photoshop Elements a try.

Not only is it much less expensive than CS3, it has most of the Photoshop functionality and is far easier to use, especially if your editing needs are basic (cropping, correcting exposures, removing redeye, etc.).

There is only one type of Photoshop made by Adobe and it is included in the current CS3 package....or you can buy it stand alone for around $700...if you are not going to use this software professionally, then you might be better off finding a similar program that does the most simplistic photo editing acitons that are similar to photoshop....other wise you are paying hundreds of dollars for tools (in Photoshop CS3) that you will never use....
Like what almost everybody else said CS3 is very good.
If you are interested in creating graphics and editing pictures, CS3 is the way to go. CS3 has a ton of features that should cover all of your bases.
