Photoshop is an image editing program. Its available as both a demo download and for purchase from http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/... However, it isn't cheap. If you just need an image editor and don't want to spend hundreds of $'s, try GIMP (www.gimp.org), its free and has many of the features you will find in Photoshop.

It is a software program that lets you manipulate image files (pictures). There are simple free version out there, or you could buy it (expensive).
It is a rocket ship. You order the kit on the internet, and you put the ship together yourself.
1. Get the program. Either buy the full version in the store or online (for a lot of money). Or, test drive the demo by downloading it at Adobe Downloads (see external links below).

2. Become familiar with the interface and tools. Find a picture that you want to fiddle with, load it into Photoshop and try editing it with all the different tools and brushes. Experimentation is your best bet if you've never used photo editing software before. If you don't like how something looks, you can always undo it.
