We all pay big bucks for the privilege of owning Photoshop CS3 and all Adobe software. They are amazing programs, and worth every penny. If you're a student, you can purchase any Adobe product at a substantial discount. Check it out either at your school or search the Internet. I hope that helps. Good luck!

Photoshop is commercial software made by Adobe, there aren't any free versions.
A couple of good, free graphics editors are the GNU Image Manipulation Program and Paint.NET.
