okay so i need to get photoshop but i honestly dont feel good and dont want to go to the store to get it. so i was wondering if there is a downloadable version of photoshop, doesnt have to be ADOBE or anything like that. and i would prefer it be free but if not its fine too. i just cant go to the store to get it, so anyone kno where i could download it??

I just downloaded the 30 day free trial of Photoshop CS2.

I'm totally confused on how to work the thing. I just want to make the images that are black %26 white, and one thing in the picture is color. I can't figure out how to do this! If you have any advice on doing this, or any tips on using Photoshop in general they would be greatly appreciated.

Photoshop Elements?

Hey there peeps, heres the story. I got photoshop elements a week ago, and i want to colour the pictures i draw in it with editor.

So, i went into youtube and saw a couple of guides, where after i noticed. Why is my Photoshop black and quite small with few options, whilst the people on Youtube's are white, huge with a load of options? Do i have to click some button or whatever? Anyway i hope someone knows what's wrong, and thanks.

I use Photoshop CS3, and am not familiar with Elements. However, you access lots of the pallettes from the Window drop down menu. Maybe Elements is similar. I'm sure the options are there, but you may just need to do a little searching to find where to turn on the ones you're interested in using.

As far as color goes, the Youtube people may be using an earlier version.

I bought a tablet form the brand Wacom ad it came with a bundle cd with photoshop in it. I installed photoshop and it asked for my cereal I looked on the cd case and it ad a cereal number listed for photoshop, so i typed it in. After he installation process was complete i started photoshop and a window popped up saying "your cereal number or username is invalid program can not continue and must quit." How do i go ack and change my cereal number or username?

When I right click on an image file and go to Open With, Photoshop used to be there as an option but now it is not. I tried navigating to photoshop with Choose Program but it still reverted to pic/fax viewer. Anyone know what happened and how i can get photoshop back in my right click / open with menu?

You probably will need to edit the registry to add this. There are lots of web pages for how to do this, just google "add items to right click menu"

I recently downloaded the trial version of Elements 6.

%26 Just Yesterday I bought the PhotoShop Elements 6 on CD at BestBuy.

Do i need to install the CD or in the trial version I can just enter the serial code %26 i have the full version of it?

Also, if i can put PhotoShop Elements 6 %26 put it on one laptop can I put it into another laptop?

I am creating something on photoshop that I plan on printing out pretty large. What settings should I use on Adobe photoshop to make it good quality when I print it? Like how many dpi and stuff like that?

The document you're creating in Photoshop should be similar in size to what you want the finished printout to be. You don't want to create a tiny document and then have to greatly enlarge it for printing; that could cause a loss in quality.

In File/New, set the width and height to what your final print is going to be; set the resolution to 300 pixels/inch.

When you print, set the printer to 300 dpi if it has that option or just set the paper type you're using if that's the available option.

HI, print resolution is 300dpi. Thats all really. Just size it in inches as you need it. The printing folks will usually have a color space they want you to use but that is easily changed.

When you are working on it use your navigator palette and "fit on screen option" so you can see what your doing....

Photoshop CS2 Experts!! Why does the circumference of my cursor does not show in Photoshop?

When I use photoshop and I'm trying to erase something sometimes you can se the circumference/border/limits/circle of the cursor so that you know how big it is and some times you can't see it. Why is this? how can I fix it so that it always shows?

Also, somethimes the program frezees... It works and everything you can work on the document but you can bring down the file menu or help or object or anything, why could this be happening?

I think you have the Caps lock on, turn it off and you will see it.

Does it just show crosshairs? I remember i had a similar problem with an older computer... it was just a bug when I was running out of memory space. Try shutting down all other running programs, even in the taskbar. Editting large multi-layered graphics takes up a good deal of resources.

Textures and patterns for Photoshop are presets. They go in the following Windows location:

C:/Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CS2/Presets/Textures.

To retrieve the new textures once you've unzipped them and placed them in the above listed location, just click Load Texture (Pattern) in the popout for whatever tool or filter you're using. For example, for the Brush Tool, go to Windows/Brushes/Texture. Then click the arrow on the right side of the pattern picker box to open the patterns. Then click the arrow on the right to open those options. Finally click Load Patterns to get your new textures.

GIMP is supposed to be close to photoshop, but I never understood GIMP.... then again, I never understoof photoshop either. lol

You are rather ambitious to want to create something like your link and you are new to Photoshop. My suggestion would be to start with about one year of intensive instructions. You will then have learned about layers, text, text styles, selections and image styles. Images created by Photoshop, other than animated images, don't flash different colors.

Photoshop Retouching training and standards?

I am familiar with photoshop and use it to adjust color balance, levels, curves, etc. But I want to take things up one more level and be able to eliminate a scar for example and do whatever is considered standard "retouching" when shooting human models.

The two questions on that are

1. What is considered "standard" in terms of retouching. I am not trying to turn my pictures into an illustration (as in I want to keep the image integrity).

2. What resource (online school/class/etc) would you recommend for improving my photoshop skills especially in terms of retouching. There are only about 10,000 books on this.

I was a hobbyist until I found www.worth1000.com This is a site where photochoppers come to compete for fun. There are also tutorials on how to do some of the effects. After engaging in some of these I can create some incredible photos.

As for touchups, this is a great place to learn about touching up. There are a lot of tutorials on the internet, try googling for Photoshop Tutorials.

I find there are many ways to do the same thing. The question isn't how to do it, but How to do it in the most efficient fashion.

For instance there are about 100 ways to optimize the dynamic range of a picture. Some of those ways while correct will take up vast amounts of time.

To cut through the Hype I found the Photoshop Bible to be one of the most helpful tools I have come across.
1. it depends on the person. if they want their pics to look flawless then retouch if not then don't.

I have photoshop CS2 because i heard it was top of the line. I want to say, make desktop background out of pictures. I need layers, right? So I select the one i want to use as the "background". When you paste the second image selection into the workspace it should automatically create a new layer, assuming you are working in a PSD file. If you just open the image (JPEG, GIF, or BMP) it will not allow you to work in a layered space.

I just looked at my Photoshop CS2 and cannot find a selection brush. CS2 is a newer version then 7 so I suppose it my have been omitted or been only part of elements. I learned on 5 which I still have a copy of and there is not selection brush tool there. I do not understand exactly why there would be one as all the tools can be used on a selection.
